About Pangaea Quest - Teen Adventure School The word "Pangaea" comes from the Greek language and translates to mean "all earth." We chose this name for our company because we felt it best represents the trips we offer. All of our courses travel through diverse landscapes, introduce students to various adventure activities, and allow students to acquire knowledge and skills in a variety of areas. Our goal is to provide our students with a strong understanding of backcountry wilderness skills, the techniques associated with each activity in which we engage, and with an understanding of the geology, history, native people, flora and fauna, and, most importantly, a greater understanding of themselves and their relationship to the world around them. We have designed our courses with the aim to provide an environment which fosters leadership and teamwork skills, encourages students to gain self-confidence, build lasting friendships, and have a summer filled with fun and adventure. At Pangaea Quest student safety is our top priority. All trips that Pangaea Quest operates consist of small close-knit groups with a maximum of 10-12 adventurers and a minimum of 2 leaders, with at least one female instructor accompanying each trip. During the climbing, rafting, whitewater kayaking, and sea kayaking portions of each trip we employ additional experienced and professional instructors to assist with each activity. This commitment to safety allows for greater individualized attention and instruction, and may bring the student to instructor ratio as low as 3:1. |
