DescriptionBack to top

Since our founding in April 1992, we have raised over two million dollars to support our efforts to restore the historical buildings on Pigeon Key. The funding of this extensive preservation effort comes from Foundation memberships, donations, and grants and awards made to the Foundation. Additional funding comes from the Pigeon Key Art Festival and marine science camps held on the island and attended by over 5,000 students per year. While the large scale historic building restorations have largely been completed, we are now upgrading the facilities for new and improved classrooms, wet labs, computer labs and more to facilitate our growing marine science education camps. In addition we have expanded out historical and ecological learning programs to instill the importance of our past and motivating our students and visitors on how to preserve the Florida Keys for future generations.
