Pleasant Hill Outdoor Center
A Program with a Purpose The right camp should be one of the most fun-filled growing experiences of a child’s life- A place of belonging where new skills, meaningful friendships, a spirit of adventure, and a love for God are all developed through unique outdoor programs. At Pleasant Hill we are dedicated to providing an exciting recreational camp program that integrates basic biblical truth into daily camp life and provides a week full of fun and growth that leaves a lasting positive mark on each camper that attends. A Staff with Committment We start recruiting our staff in January, visiting colleges and universities around the region in search of just the right young men and women to serve as counselors and support staff. We require each summer staffer to be both emotionally and mentally mature in addition to a strong Christian commitment to insure that your child is not only in good hands but also in good hearts. After a thorough screening process including a written application, interview, and comprehensive background check, each staffer completes a full week of training. Courses cover everything from CPR/ First Aid and safety procedures, to methods for teaching each of our fun camp activity areas. We consider it an honor to be trusted with your child for the week and aim to retain your trust through the use of quality programs facilitated by a trained, mature and competent summer staff. Pleasant Hill is directed by a 15 year veteran of summer camp administration. A Place with Impact We are located in “Mohican Country” in the midst of one of the most scenic areas in Ohio. Our property shares a boarder with the Mohican State forest and is situated on the shores of beautiful Pleasant Hill Lake. Ponds, natural springs, and towering hardwoods are just some of the camp’s natural assets. Mohican Country is home to the third largest concentration of canoe liveries in the United States and hosts some of the best family oriented camping fun in the state.
