Rock School Summer Camps
Summer Address:
Camps include Jazz Camp, Rock U, Shredders Camp, RockerGrrrls!, Songwriters Camp, Voice Adventures, Rap/HipHop and Studio 101 (GarageBand). In the band camps, repertoire is selected by the group, which rehearses every day. Learn band skills like how to manage your gear, how to play a ripping solo, how to shape like a rock star, etc. The week culminates with a show on Friday evening. In Studio 101, kids 11-16 will make a record using the acclaimed Mac program Garage Band to write, arrange and record instrumental and vocal tracks for their own compositions. The camp culminates with a CD of original music created by the students! In Voice Adventures will concentrate on developing skills for singers. Each singer will select a song to perform at the Friday night showcase, accompanied by a band of professional musicians. Classes in such skills as mic technique, projecting, singing harmony, playing hand percussion will help singers learn what they need to come across like a star.
