Tired of sitting in the audience? Want to be up on the screen instead? Join the next generation of dramatic performers and visual storytellers at SOCAPA, the School of Cinema and Performing Arts. SOCAPA's Summer Programs in Burlington, VT offers intensive study in Filmmaking, Acting, and Photography for youth (11-13) and Teens (14-18). During the two and three week sessions, students write, direct and produce films, shoot production stills and headshots, or act out their favorite scene to be filmed.
Overlooking Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains, Burlington, Vermont is the ideal setting for this intensive arts program. Just blocks away from the residences at Champlain College is vibrant Church Street Marketplace, where artists, street performers and musicians enjoy the beautiful summer days- the perfect scene for a short movie or a photograph. During evenings and weekends, students enjoy the many activities that Burlington provides- swimming in Lake Champlain, shopping and enjoying the many music venues on Church Street, and visiting the decadent Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream factory.
