Join us for a summer of innovation! Each week STEMbrainy camps engage children in STEM activities centered around a new and fun theme. Best of all, your child will get to keep all of their special creations at the end of camp!
Week 1 Move it or lose it!
Explore energy, force and motion in this fun filled camp where energy and mechanics take center stage. Campers will design water balloon launchers, solar powered creatures, balloon powered cars, ziplines and egg carton helicopters.
Week 2 It’s Electric!
Excitement is in the air as kids explore electricity and magnetism. Campers will enjoy a week of design challenges that incorporate the basic principles of electricity and magnetism. Builds will include a motorized toy car, a bot of your child’s own design, an electromagnet snatching tool that can pick up metal, and a uniquely designed light up toy.
Week 3 Star Struck!
Blast off for an electrifying week among the stars! Campers will enjoy a week of space themed engineering design challenges. Builds will include a light up planetarium of your child’s design, straw rockets and launchers designed to travel the farthest distance, a robo hand that can pick up small objects, and a lunar lander that can keep an egg safe during landing.
Week 4 Mix it Up!
Make some bonds as you explore chemistry! Campers will enjoy a week of mixing up solutions to make new things. Mixes include glow in the dark and color changing slime, bubble solution for big bubbles, and some kitchen science. Campers will also create a vehicle powered by a chemical reaction.
Week 5 It’s Alive!
Plants, and Animals, and Ecosystems Oh My! In this week-long adventure, campers will explore the world of living things. Activities for the week include, designing and building a terrarium, a circuit bug, a grass head mammal and an ecosystem with a magnet creature.
Week 6 Let’s Play!
Get ready for a week of science centered game design! Campers will use energy, force and motion concepts to design their own games to meet criteria set in each design challenge. At the end of the week, all of your camper’s unique creations will come home to be enjoyed with family and friends.
STEMbrainy camps will be held at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church.
