The girls' camp is at Camp Gold Hollow, located in the beautiful Sierra Foothills near Grass valley. Only a short hike away, along shady trails, there is a creek to explore and a scenic waterfall. The lake is perfect for swimming and canoeing. All waterfront activities are supervised by a lifeguard. Our mature Christian staff will continue to offer girls an unforgettable outdoor experience.

We have many different activities that teach new skills and are fun too. Some of the activities we may offer include drama, archery, outdoor cooking, riflery, nature-quest, a variety of art and craft classes, canoeing, team sports, hiking, and swimming. We have campfires, sing a lot, play games, eat great food, and enjoy being outdoors.

Every day we do cabin group Bible Exploration and have personal devotions that we call Morning Watch. We know that God has all kinds of great things to show us every day! Free time each afternoon provides campers with the opportunity to do a variety of camp activities - or just kick back and relax! Evenings are full of

  • group games
  • scavenger hunts
  • singing around the campfire
  • sharing from God's Word
  • toasting marshmallows

You will end the week with new friends of all ages and a new appreciation of God's amazing creation.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING: CILT

Campers in Leadership Training (CILT) program is a nationally recognised leadership course offered by Camp Cheriths nationwide. It is a unique educational and practical challenge for high school age campers with leadership potential.

At Shasta Camp Cherith the CILT program is a two year course. Campers must attend both weeks of camp each year as well as complete work in the year between. Young women who have completed at least the tenth grade in high school may apply to be in the program. At camp, whilst still being campers, and enjoying the camp program, CILTs study and apply leadership skills, develop specific skills needed for camp leadership, assist in a variety of activities with younger campers, and draw closer to God through intensive Bible study and prayer. Any CILT graduate will share what a brilliant time they had as CILTs, and how they grew through the program!
