South Shore Computer Camp

Hingham, Massachusetts, United StatesSouth Shore Computer Camp will be running its third year at Hingham High School the week of July 7th-11th. The camp is open for boys and girls between the ages of 7-14. Campers rotate between computer technology, a hands-on electronics project and outdoor recreational and sports activities. Campers are grouped with students based on age and ability. Computer software involves the use of Microsoft Office, web design, graphics or computer animation. Last year, campers worked with electronics kits and designed Styrofoam hovercrafts. Outside activities include frisbee, soccer, kickball or tennis baseball. Camper to staff ratio is about 5:1. The camp is directed by Steven George, HHS business and technology teacher, and Mark Awdycki, Millis High School guidance counselor. In addition to some college and high school students, other staff includes certified high school teachers, coaches and a registered nurse. Tuition is $289 for the week.
