Startalk is a program for rising sixth graders through 2011 high school graduates designed to introduce and enhance Chinese language speaking and writing skills, develop vocabulary, and improve reading comprehension and writing through task-based language teaching. In addition, the program will offer age-appropriate standards-based cultural activities daily like kung fu, tai-chi, dance, and calligraphy.

*A proficiency level of at least one year of past Chinese instruction in a formal classroom setting or Chinese language ability from another approved source is required.

*Cost of the Startalk program is $200 and includes a box lunch each day, a T-shirt and Chinese learning materials. Campers can also join a Branson field trip July 2 to watch the Shanghai Circus Acrobats for $25. Family members are also welcome to join.
