String Me Along (SMA) is a fully integrated string camp offered to violin, viola, cello, and bass students of all ages and abilities. Gina Corso, creator and director of SMA , is a violinist and teacher who performs with major artists, including Billy Joel, Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, Idina Menzel, and The Trans-Siberian Orchestra. During the forty hours of creative, motivational, and educational sessions, students collaborate to produce their own show. SMA focuses on rock improvisation, electric sound, musical showmanship, and performance skills. Not only do students study a diverse set-list, from Mozart to Coldplay to Led Zeppelin, but they also learn critical production responsibilities including stage set-up, aesthetics, lighting, timing, and promoting. As the third annual SMA string camp approaches, all details surrounding guest appearances, specialized classes, and faculty biographies will be released!
