DescriptionBack to top

During camp students will work together to create their own animated video using Claymation. Students will begin by sculpting clay characters, creating storyboards, and constructing sets. After shooting their animation students will record sounds and learn video and audio editing. Programs used will include Final Cut, Quick Time Pro, Photoshop and Audacity Digital Audio Editing.
Each day will begin with theater games and creative story-telling exercises and end with a visiting artist or animation screening. Guest visits will include artists working in dance, circus performance, comic books, music and sound. Screenings will include modern animated favorites going back to very early animated films. Other highlights include a field trip to The Museum of the Moving Image, a field drawing day at the Central Park Zoo, and a final screening of student works for family and friends.
