A study was conducted by several professors who discovered that teachers in the greater Memphis area spend much of the months of August and September reviewing concepts that students lost over the summer months. The Summer Enrichment camp was developed in response to that need.
The focus of Expanded Educational Services Summer Enrichment Camp 2010 is daily instruction from licensed teachers in mathematics, reading, and writing. We have infused this instruction with several fun activities including sports mini camps, dance, music appreciation, public speaking, talent shows, skits, and more. The result is a safe, fun atmosphere that allows children to learn and play in an environment that does not resemble school.
At the end of the camp, we will host a major talent show called Cordova's Idol. It is loosely based on America's Idol. We will invite children's family, friends, and the public to this production!
