Summer Kampers
Summer Address:

Summer Kampers offers students aged 5-15 three distinct programs from which to choose: A Very Special Week at Hogwarts, Enrichment, and Academic Camp as well as MorningCare and AfterCare to accommodate working families. We are committed to offering small class sizes. A class is considered full at 12-14 students, with an average teacher to student ratio of 1:8. We anticipate 50 to 70 students weekly, and expect to see in excess of 400 students in our programs over the course of the summer this year.
Our Very Special Week at Hogwarts program is a favorite in the community. We decorate the classrooms with oriental rugs, tapestries and antique props. Students take classes in Divination, Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Wizard Duels and others throughout the week, and are excited by the many special effects such as dragon sightings, impromptu wizard duels and peculiar things which inevitably happen to their teachers when potions and spells go awry. On Monday, we hold the Grand Sorting Ceremony, in which each of the first years are sorted, and yes, the Sorting Hat really has a conversation with each student! We are visited by a real great horned owl, who delivers a personalized letter to each student. Students compete in Quidditch, and the playoffs are held on Friday, along with the Wizard Bowl house competition and the Great Feast. Its an impressive week of drama, creativity and special effects that students cherish. This year, we have many brand new exciting classes (Auror Training & O.W.L.S. Preparatory Course) and surprises in store for our students. In preparing for Your Very Special Week at Hogwarts, remember... MUGGLES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!
The Enrichment program provides ultimate flexibility and variety for children. Some classes are academic in nature, some are athletic experiences, and still others are creative and offered just for fun. In the Enrichment program, students can sign up for as little as one class, which runs an hour and fifteen minutes daily, Monday through Friday, to a full time day camp of four classes daily for all 11 weeks during the summertime. This fiexibility is unique in our industry, which is appreciated by parents. Examples of some of our favorite classes are: LegoManiacs, Cooking classes, computer classes, early reader classes, Dungeons & Dragons, En Garde! Theatrical Combat, Experiment A Day, Rocketry, Wacky Math Olympics, Nerf Tactics & Strategy, WET! Obstacle Course, Seuss on the Loose, Egg Landidng Pods, Myth Busters, Junkyard Wars and more! We'll offer nearly 200 different creative courses this year! Academic Camp (Weekly June 18 - August 31) In our Academic Camp program, students sign up for full time day camp in one week sessions with varying academic themes such as Biology, Geography and Map Skills, Writers Workshop and Mathematics. Academics are studied in the morning, and entertaining activities are planned each afternoon. On Monday, students skills are assessed. Teachers work with students every morning throughout the week, and on Friday, their skills are reassessed. Parents look forward to the individualized academic instructions students receive, and children look forward to fun and exciting activities each afternoon.
