The Winsted Area Child Care Center's Summer Sensation Program provides a safe and nurturing environment for school age children.  Summer Sensation consists of 10 weekly sessions.  During each session, a specific theme is selected and the activities for the week are planned accordingly.  Our theme based curriculum aims to assist children in developing their interests, through many fun and educational activities.  From art projects to field trips, quest speakers and games; our program offers a wide variety of exciting activities for your child to choose from.  During each week children have an opportunity to participate in sports and outdoor games, art and creative activies and will enjoy a weekly trip to nearby Highland Lake. During all sessions a number of walking trips and guest speakers are scheduled to enhance the learning experience for the children.    There are 5 out of town field trips and the locations are selected to extend the learning of the weekly theme.  Our educated staff are all trained in First Aid, CPR, and Administration of Emergency Medication (epi-pens, inhalers, etc.)

We go on Bi-Weekly Field Trips to various area attractions

Our Summer Sensation Program begins on the last day of School and runs until 2 days before School begins again.  Each week is theme based and the cost per week is $125 plus a bi-weekly field trip fee of $10.  Financial aid may be available to those who qualify.
