Summer is a time for play–or Plays! We have developed a great program for the Theater Arts.  We aim to teach your child all the basics of acting and the theatre this summer.  Plus we will do our best to see that the ones who are ready get their headshots and resumes together so that they can go on auditions as professionals.  This is an all day camp led by Emily Donn and Dani Meyer of our Children’s Theater Workshop

Session Dates and Themes are:

                June 8 – June 19: Literature session

Campers will chose from a selection of well-known young adult and children’s books and adapt it into a staged version! 

                 June 22 - July 10*: Shakespeare session

Campers will learn the story of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and create a modern version!

*This session has an extra week to accommodate the 4^th of July weekend

                 July 13 –July 24: Musical session

Campers will sing songs and perform roles from Broadway musicals written especially for children and teenagers.  They will create the narrations involved to make the show into a revue honoring young people in musicals! 

                 July 27 - August 7: Playwriting session

Campers will work as a group to create an original play! 

                 August 10 – 21: Sketch comedy / improvisation session

Campers will learn the skills involved in improvisation and create their own sketch comedy show! 

Throughout each session, campers will learn professional skills and knowledge that will help them with future careers as performers, as well as teach skills with real life applications.  Camp is only $100 a week per camper, with a commitment to complete full sessions.  Campers can attend one, two, three, four, or all five sessions!  Camp runs from 9-5 with drop-off starting at 8:30 and pick-up by 5:30.
