Kindergarten Preview

Kindergarten Preview open to all 4- and 5-year old students to experience a preview of the school and classroom environment. Students will be in session from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will be available for 8 weeks. Students may participate in as many weeks of this program as desired for $100 per week. Students must be at least 4 years old by April 1 to attend.

Around the World in 5 Days

Pack your bags and get ready to travel around the world as we learn about various countries and their cultures. From classic literature to folk tales and legends, students will use level-appropriate reading material to learn about each country, as well as exploration of geographical features, ecosystems, and native people. Playing games, sampling foods, creating artwork, and listening to music will allow students to experience the culture of each country. Throughout the week, students will research a country of their choice, celebrating their work in a final presentation. Available to students entering grades 1 through 8.

Art Camp: Art Around the World

This is a week of exploring art from different regions of the world! Each day campers will meet a famous artist and discover new pieces of art. Studio time will be spent creating personal art based on the country of the day, all while experimenting with different mediums. Campers will host an Art Showcase at the end of the week for the unveiling of their work.

Science Camp: Experimenting with Science

Investigate science in several different fields, and actually have fun while learning! From atoms and elements to space exploration, examine science-related topics and perform hands-on experiments. Each day will bring a new topic and a new science mystery to solve. Participate in a mini-science fair at the end of the week to show off your hard work and science expertise.

1/2 Day Strings Camp

Join us as we open our strings cases and play great music together. Students will stretch their playing abilities, compose for their instrument, learn music theory, see and hear concert excerpts, and enjoy a week of strings related games and activities. At the end of the week, students will perform the pieces they learned in concert. The program is open to strings students (violin, viola, cello, bass, acoustic guitar) entering 3rd-8th grade who have completed one year of class strings. Students will need to provide their own instrument.

1/2 Day Vocal Camp

Join us this summer as we lift up our voices and sing together. Vocalists will enjoy rehearsals, sectionals, composing for voice, music theory games, and other activities related to singing. Patriotic, folk, popular, and summer themed songs will be prepared for a concert at the end of the week. The program is for vocalists entering 1st-8th grade that enjoy singing.

Sports Camp

Kids will go bananas for Blitz Ball and crazy for Cup Stacking this summer during Sports Camp with new games and variations on old favorites, students will whet their whistle for fun and excitement. The theme this year is Unconventional Sports, which will include activities like Kickball, Toe Tag, Leg Wrestling, and Lawn Games. By the end of the week, participants will have dozens of activities that they can do on their own outside of camp. In the process, students will also learn about their bodies and how exercise and activity positively affect their health and happiness. Bonus: Sleepy, happy kids at the end of each day. Parents, you are welcome. Available to students entering grades 1 through 8.

Wizarding 101

Wizarding comes to Springfield! Explore the art of casting spells and creating potions. Impress your family and friends with your incredible owl knowledge and your amusing pranks and entertaining magic tricks. Learn how to play quidditch and participate in an actual competition. Join us for this week of extraordinary excitement in the wizarding world. Available to students entering grades 1 through 8.

Math Camp: Math is Everywhere

Math camp will inspire the joy of learning by revealing the hidden math in several aspects of life: music, art, food, nature, movement, and fun. Students will learn about these topics as well as the math behind their existence and usefulness in a relaxed, interactive environment. Topics will be age-appropriate for each level and will strive to fulfill the potential of each group. Students will see math as it applies to music, art, food, nature, movement, and fun! Available to students entering grades 1 through 8.

Song Writing Camp

Musicians, lyricists, poets, and performers of all ages, together with local songwriters, will assemble with one common goal: to write beautiful music. We will analyze songs - from classic to contemporary, familiar to obscure, Beethoven to Beatles - and find out what compels us to sing along. Then, we will collaboratively write and record several songs to share with the world. The final recordings from each group will be compiled on a CD for each contributing camper. Available to students entering grades 1 through 8.
