At Texas Arts Project (TAP), campers between the ages of 13 and 18 choose between 5 courses of study: musical theatre, acting, dance, technical theatre and filmmaking. Morning classes are 3 hours in a chosen major. Afternoon classes offer the opportunity to study alternate majors and include master classes and a special guest artist series. Rehearsals are conducted in the evenings and on weekends culminating in a final performance showcase. TEXAS ARTS PROJECT

Outstanding teaching, direction, and performance experiences enhance skill, encourage cooperative work, and nurture self-confidence. TAP emphasizes nurturing the imagination and creativity of each camper.

TAP Philosophy

Accept the Challenge

Texas Arts Project strives to create the "complete artist." Each camper chooses a major and devotes at least half of each camp day to an intense study in that chosen field. Additionally, campers take classes and study the other majors. All campers get a taste of performance and teamwork as they learn the opening and closing numbers together.

Discover the Process

The study of any subject begins with the basics and the performing arts at TAP camp are no different. Campers vigorously study the nuts and bolts of their major - from acting techniques and musical theatre history to film editing and body conditioning. Only through intimate awareness with our field can we properly work towards our greatest potential.

Realize Your Potential

At TAP camp, we never lose sight of the final goal. Showcase rehearsals require campers to integrate their technique with strong performance skills. Our rigorous rehearsal process ensures a feeling of accomplishment and personal success with each and every camper's final bow.

“The thing I love most about TAP camp is that it is such an accepting and fun environment. I learn TONS of great information and tricks and tips on how to improve my musical theatre and dance world. TAP camp also has helped me gain confidence in myself and I have learned to be a better person."
Alexa Age 14 (TAP '07 & '09)

The entire thing was amazing, and the classes were really informative! I liked the "musical theatre productions" class when we learned about all the different choreographers and did some of their stuff. Bob Fosse was my favorite! It was a boarding camp, (my very first!) and everyone was soooo great!

THE STAFF WAS AMAZING!!!!!! I love every single one of them and hope to see them again!! Everything I have learned I have applied to my singing and acting and I have seen an improvement. BEST SUMMER OF MY LIFE!!!!!(so far)
Rachel Age 14 (TAP '08)

The whole experience was fantastic! I learned so much, and I improved in so many ways. There were so many wonderful people to help. I loved TAP advanced, learning about how to audition for college. Everything was informative and helpful!  Everyone was SO helpful and supportive. I have nothing but good things to say about everyone at TAP! The college seminars were great! I learned a lot, and I feel more prepared going into college auditions. Also, learning that my body can do a lot more than I expect really benefited me in many ways. I think I got more out of TAP then I have from other camps because of the atmosphere. Everyone is there because they love what they do, and it makes it easy to really get into it! TAP has allowed me to "come out of my shell" a little. I was challenged both physically and mentally to do things I wasn't sure I had the power to. But it turns out that I have a lot more control over that than I thought I did! I have also been blessed with many friendships from the camp that have changed me in many ways as well.
Susan Age 16 (TAP Advanced '08)

We really appreciated the quality of the performance. The children clearly learned a lot during the week and seemed very comfortable on stage during the performance. We were pleased for our daughter to be challenged but in a realistic manner that set her up for a great success.
