The Britt Institute
Summer Address:

Now in its 48th year, Britt Festivals is the Pacific Northwest’s premiere outdoor performing arts festival. Located in the historic 1850s Gold Rush town of Jacksonville, Oregon, Britt presents a full summer of concerts under the stars.
The Britt Institute, the educational arm of Britt Festivals, offers summer programs that provide a unique educational opportunity to today’s young musicians. Britt Institute programs are intensive, challenging and inspiring. Students are given the tools needed to expand their technique and musicianship in ways that will change their approach to music forever, compelling them to become more expressive and creative performers.
Britt Institute students study and perform with some of the nation’s top professional musicians and instructors. String Quartet Academy students attend Britt Festivals Orchestra performances and participate in special sessions with world-famous soloists and Maestro Peter Bay. In 2011, students will experience master classes and meet-and-greets with Britt Festivals visiting artists.
Britt Institute’s goal is to make music a joyous, meaningful part of life for our participants. In the midst of beautiful southern Oregon, the Britt Institute String Quartet Academy changes the lives of young musicians each summer.
