The Dance Space DANCEcamps

Our DANCEcamp program is designed to introduce students to a broad range of dance styles that include lessons in tecnhique, composition (choreography) improvisation, dance history, production, nutirition and music and visual arts. Each program builds from one year to the next and from level to level. The activites and lessons in our currinculuem are designed with regard to the developmental and skill of the children.

Mini Dance Camps (ages 3-5) In addition to daily creative dance and tumbling classes. Students will enjoy being imaginative and creative with special games, crafts and themed activities. DanceCamp 1: Expression (ages 5 -7)Students this age are actively creative and expressive. This camp is designed to further expand their budding imagination through dance and the other arts. Students will explore the world of dance thru daily dance classes, art in motion projects and song. Student will study the technical and creative elements of ballet, modern, tumbling and hip hop. Students will also learn valuable lessons in dance history, dance vocabulary and health. July 6-10th 9:00am-1:30 $125

Dance Experience 1: Around the World (ages 7-12)For beginning students as well as those who have dance experience. Summer is a great time to try new dance styles and intensify training in one area. Students will enjoy the week studying a variety of dance styles including Salsa, Hula, Tahitian, Bellydancing, African, Break dancing along with technique classes in jazz and hip hop dance. Students also learn valuable lessons about anatomy, health and nutrition, dance history and vocabulary. July 13-17 9:00am-2:30 $150

Dance Experience 2– Ballet and Modern.(ages 7-12)What is Ballet? What is Modern? What does it take to become a serious and skilled dancer? Students will learn about both art forms through daily technique classes, creative exploration and fun activities. Ballet will study Coppelia, a very famous ballet about a doll that comes to life. In Modern, students will learn about this very special American dance form and its emphasize on personal expression and independence. Includes daily ballet class, classes in modern, character, choreography and dance history.*** Valuable lessons in pantomime, dramatic interpretation , anatomy, health and nutrition and music. Special training in strengthening and stretching for dancers. ** July 20-24 9:00am-2:30 $150

AUGUST CAMPS

Dance Experience 3: Broadway! (ages 6-12)Similar to Dance Experience 1 but with an emphasis on musical theatre and jazz dance. Includes daily jazz and ballet classes as well as voice training and dramatic interpretation. ***Students will learn scenes and songs from a Broadway musical to be performed last day of camp. Musical TBA. August 3. 9:00-1:30 $125

Bop and Hop! (ages 5-12)Special Time! 4:00pm-6:30 An intensive in tumbling and hip hop/break dancing. Students will drill basic and advance skills such as cartwheels, round off’s, back kickovers and back handsprings (depending on skill level). Learn a fun hip hop routine with a lot of WOW that utilizes tumbling and break-dance skills.*** Students will be divided by age and level. August 10-13 4:00-6:30 $80

Extra Care

For early drop off and after care. Must reserve space in advance. $5 per half hour Available 7:30am-6:00pm. Breakfast/Snacks provided by parents.
