Operating as a non-profit agency, the Fresh Air Fund operates five free summer camps each year for underprivileged New York City children.  Each camp varies in age group, gender, and overall emphasis.

Camp ABC serves girls ages 9 to 13, and is a traditional sleep away camp, with activities such as swimming, arts & crafts, hiking, dance, and digital photography.

Camp Hayden-Marks is our traditional camp for boys ages 9 to 12 and we place an emphasis on outdoors activities, but also offer educational activities such as computers, music, and video.

Camp Hidden Valley is our coed special needs camp, where campers both with and without disability come together in a supportive setting. Some campers' special needs include sickle-cell anemia, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, hearing impairments, emotional problems and physical disabilities that require the use of wheel chairs, braces or crutches.

Camp Tommy (named after our very generous board member Tommy Hilfiger) serves boys ages 12 to 15, and offers a variety of activities designed to encourage cooperation and team building.

Camp Mariah is our coed career awareness camp, and campers must be in the sixth grade in order to apply.Intensive three-and-a-half-week summer sessions and weekend camping trips are complemented by year-round activities in New York City.

All five camps are located on the 2300 acre Sharpe reservation in Fishkill, NY.  While at camp, all campers have the opportunity to spend time tackling the challenges of our ropes course, milking a cow at our model farm, and learning about the wonders of space at our planetarium.
