Beginning Camp (will be in 1st-3rd grades in 9/09) July 12-17 2009 $479
Beginning Camp is the perfect, one-week experience for our youngest friends to fall in love with camp! We keep the camper numbers low so that our counselors are able to spend more one on one time with each participant. Small adventures of Rockslides, Arts & Crafts, Nature Hikes, & Lake Fun fill our days, while Magicians & Birthday Parties fill our evenings. All of our activities are done in our cabin groups and/or with the rest of the Beginning Campers, so we learn to have fun in and outside of the cabins.
Elementary Camp (in 4th-6th grades in 9/09) July 5-17 2009 $1009 Elementary Camp gives you the first opportunity to choose many of the activities that you will be participating in during your session. Learn how to build a campfire and cook a meal, create your very own tie-dyed shirt, or explore one of our many trails for the secrets of nature. Join in our Slumber Parties, Campfires, and Treasure Hunts. Every day brings something new and exciting!
Work & Adventure Camp ( in 8th-12th grades in 9/09) July 5-17 2009 $1040
As a group you will spend the first week of the session working on creating a team while experiencing the Low & High Ropes Course, learning how to "Set up Camp", practicing hiking techniques on our own mountain trails, and making a difference to The Mountain community in a variety of service projects. Your second week of the program takes place out on the trail – hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, cooking your own food, camping under a tarp, practicing "Leave No Trace" skills, and much more! All W&A campers will be staying at the base of our mountain in a newly renovated pavilion. Experience the beauty of the stars and moonlight as you prepare to sleep. Enjoy a community of people that are practicing low impact activities and learning skills that can be used in the future. Junior High Camp: (in 7th-9th grade 9/09) 6/21-7/3 $1040 Sr. High Camp (in 10th-12th grades in 9/06) 7/16 - 8/1, 2009 $1122 With the experience of highly intensive trips and workshops, campers are given the opportunity to challenge their bodies, mind, and spirit. Hiking through the night with the 24-Hour Experience, creating your own piece of art out of trash and so much more allow our Sr. High youth to expand their knowledge and understanding in a safe and fun environment. There are opportunities galore to make new friends, create memories, and discover who you "really" are through daytime and evening programs. Join us for the ultimate camp experience! ASCENDER Camp: (in 11th-12th grade 9/09) 6/14-7/17 $970
Counselor-in-Training (CIT): (graduate in '09 or '10) 6/14-8/1/09 $1174
Application based program.
The CITs live together on Mountain property with approximately 7-8 other participants and 2 mentors. All the CITs assist with camp activities, daily trips, workshops, and basic supervision of youth. Each day is packed with action – 5 full days with their assigned cabin and camp activities, 1 day of leadership development & training, and 1 day to relax (and clean the CIT house!). Mid-session Sunday marks Field Day – an exciting activity designed and facilitated by the CITs. Campers also anticipate the one “Fun W/ CITs” night each session, carefully and strategically created by the CITs just for that age group.
