The Ultimate Summer Jam
Jam Camp 2007 is presented by the award-winning The Music School based in American Fork, Utah. It is a unique week-long high-energy music camp for young musicians (ages 14-18) interested in Alternative Rock, Classic Rock, Jazz, Blues, and other styles. Campers will play in bands, perform, attend classes, record songs, and jam with other Campers and nationally-recognized artists.
Jam Camp 2007 is an exciting exploration of modern music styles including alternative rock, jazz, blues, classic rock, hip-hop, reggae, funk, and more. Under the direction of Caleb Chapman, founder of The Music School and Jam Camp, this unique setting presents teen musicians with an unrivaled musical experience in performing, recording, and the music industry.
Musicians of all levels on guitar, bass, drums, piano/keyboards, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, and vocals are invited to attend. Participants will choose an emphasis for their Performance Track and will then be grouped into bands by ability and interest. All participants will select elective classes from a broad range of styles, regardless of which emphasis they select.
Jam Camp culminates with performances by all students on the final day. Each student will also receive a professional studio recording of his or her band from the week.
The Experience
Each day, students will have the opportunity to:
• Attend Workshops and Masterclasses with the pros
• Play and Record in bands with musicians of similar abilities and interests
• Access the computer lab to learn the latest music technologies
• Observe and play in jam sessions with other students and faculty
• Attend concerts by faculty and special guests
• Learn basic recording techniques
• Dig in to the challenges of songwriting and improvisation
