Our creative summer equestrian riding camp program provides extensive riding and lesson time. Days are filled with horse activities geared toward developing riders into accomplished horsewomen.
Lake Placid Academy teaches you the responsibilities of managing the daily care of your horse. Riding lessons by top professional instructors will develop balance and coordination. Mastering control over a 1,000 pound animal will definitely improve self confidence. The daily responsibility of chores will teach you the skills needed to care and manage your own horse.
Instructions are given in all areas of western and English horsemanship including: reigning, trail, pole bending, jumping, cross country, and even learning how to drive a pony and cart.
Our days at The Ranch provide memories to last a lifetime! Morning begins with early morning feeding and rounding up the horses. You finish your hearty breakfast and then you are off to a day of lessons, jumping, or practice for our famous "drill team".Your ranch experience may culminate in an overnight pack trip. Professional athletes, veterinarians, farriers, give demonstrations and tips.
Non equine activities include: swimming, hiking, farm chores, basketball, volleyball, drama & dance, arts and crafts. Tours of the Olympic Complexes, the prestigious, "Lake Placid Horse Show," and professional rodeos offer fun and excitement even for the most timid of campers.Evenings are concluded by singing around a blazing campfire and then back to the bunkhouse for dreaming about the days activities.
