The Young Actors' School uses the theatrical arts to teach vital communication, presentation, performance, and creative skills to young people. The emergence of digital media as a primary communication form in the 21st century promises that today's youth will be required to interact with performances of all types as actors, directors, and audience members more than ever before. The Young Actors' School stands to be a guiding force in the lives of young people as they develop the skills they will need to prosper in our evolving society.

Dramatic Explorers
Ages 5-7
July 5-8, 2011
Morning Session 9:00-11:30am
Afternoon Session 12:00-2:30pm
$75 per Session
Maximum Class Size 15
Students will learn the fundamentals of dramatic play as they produce a short musical based on an international folktale. This is a perfect program for children who are excited about performing, and are looking for an active setting to make new friends and have a ton of fun.

Ages 8-10
July 11-29, with a recital on Friday, July 29.

Students will learn the fundamentals of dramatic performance skills, and will specialize in two of the following exciting areas: Shakespeare, Musical Theatre, Improvisational Acting, and our thrilling Action Movie Making class! Whether your student is looking for a rigorous acting class, or just a unique and unforgettable summer camp experience, this program has something for everyone!

Students will explore the fundamentals of dramatic performances at a slightly more advanced level, as well as specialize in two of our exciting elective classes: Shakespeare, Musical Theatre, Improvisational Acting, and Action Movie Making. Students will learn valuable skills as they work together to create memorable performance pieces on the DHT stage.
