The Zajac Ranch for Children
Summer Address:
Mission, British Columbia, CanadaWhy Choose Zajac Ranch?
Set just off the shores of Stave Lake in Mission, BC, the Zajac Ranch is a 40 acre camp surrounded by pristine forest and mountain views.
Our facilities are state of the art, comfortable and fully wheel chair accessible. We can house up to 120 people. There are three lodges, a dining hall and recreation centre, including an indoor gym and a covered picnic area, a teepee village and a lot more.
We recognize the need for a camp that can cater to the medical needs of children while they are at camp. Without The Zajac Foundation and our 24-hour Medical Centre many of these children would not have an opportunity to enjoy what should be a childhood staple.
Quality of life with emphasis on FUN!
The health and safety of every child is closely monitered by our staff, Nursing Director and volunteer medical staff. The medical centre is fully equipped to handle any medical situation. All camper applications are reviewed ahead of time by our Nursing Director in order to ensure that we can provide the upmost medical care for each child.
Campers will enjoy our playing field, archery range, outdoor amphitheatre, swim dock, horseback riding, high and low ropes course, climbing wall, canoeing, kayaking and much more.
All of the programs at the Zajac Ranch use recreation to help facilitate independent functioning, enhancing the quality of life all with the emphasis on the word FUN! Programs are designed to set campers up for success allowing them to discover new things about themselves that they never thought was possible. Each day is packed with excitement, activities and opportunities for children to try something for the very first time. There is truly nothing better than watching a child in a wheel chair ride a horse for the first time, or experience the magic of a child climbing 40 ft in the air on our high ropes course. When campers arrive at the Ranch, they don’t have to worry about an environment where they feel different. Here at the Ranch, the different is normal. Children are able to develop their social skills with others that are experiencing the same things as they are. Children become aware that the everyday challenges that they experience don’t matter here. The primary focus is having FUN!
The Zajac Ranch offers more than just a great summer camp. The facility is operated year round and is rented out to the community. Our diverse client base includes schools, churches, weddings, businesses and more. All rental revenue goes directly towards sustaining our summer camp programs.
