DescriptionBack to top

Since 1965 Vanderkamp has offered a Christian Summer Camp experience on our 850 acre wooded facility near Syracuse, NY. Summer camp activities include rowboating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, horseback riding, swimming, archery, challenge activities, sports, arts and crafts, Zumba, rocketry, music, drama, agriculture, and a little something we call outrageous activities!
What really separates the Vanderkamp experience, however, is our culture. Everything from the way our schedule is designed, to the way we serve meals, to the way our staff interacts with campers, to the ways we prevent teasing and bully, is intentionally designed to create a culture of acceptance and belonging. We use an inclusive and love-based Christian message to ensure that children from all faith backgrounds will feel welcome, valued, and that they can be exactly as God made them.
Some testimonials:
A tearful parent on pickup day: "I've haven't seen my daughter smile in years. Nothing makes her happy anymore. Look at her! She's smiling, she's laughing. She feels love here. She shows love here."
A camper who struggles with self-esteem: "Everyone says you shouldn't tease, but they don't stop anybody from doing it. I actually don't get teased here. I really feel like I fit in."
A camper spoke up in church, saying, "Thank you so much for sending me to Vanderkamp. It was the best week of my life. I feel so much closer to God, now."
And this is just the beginning! For more information, call James at the office or email him. He'd be happy to discuss our innovative approach to camping that has already changed so many children's lives!
