Every year parents, grandparents, pastors and friends ask me why kids should come to camp.
My simple answer is, at Wesley Woods I have witnessed campers being shaped through meaningful worship, fun and fellowship. Many have become faithful leaders for today and tomorrow.
As a certified camp and retreat ministry person with over 12 years in professional ministry I know we have one of the finest programs in the Midwest. The families of our campers have been coming for generations and can share stories of common experiences and spiritual growth. We above all seek to create a SAFE environment where the physical and emotional well being of the campers are a top priority.
Wesley Woods offers young people an opportunity to escape the expectations others have place on them. We acknowledge God created each camper special and unique. We want to give young people encouragement to strengthen who they are or to rewrite the direction they are heading. Through exploring the outdoors, being mentored by our staff, cooking over fires, attending worship, developing new skills and embracing Bible Study each camper has an opportunity to grow.
Because of the intentionality we have in encouraging campers to recognize the love of God and His son, Jesus Christ through all we do Wesley Woods sets itself apart from other camps. We will encourage, support, and keep your campers safe.
Our home cooked meals over the campfire or in the dining hall are delicious. We have numerous activities, such as stargazing, campfires, and hikes where you can experience God’s creation in a different light. Our indoor activities include ping pong, pool, foosball, foursquare, table games; and our outdoor games include such favorites as basketball, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee and soccer.
As you look at our events, notice the difference between Outpost & Inpost programs. Descriptions, pictures and information on those programs and individual sites can be found on our web page or you may call for more information. One new program for this summer is our Exceptional Persons: Children with Autism camp. Campers will be encouraged to grow in their faith through staff testimonies, worship experiences, daily Bible Studies and devotions. We believe individuals grow stronger in their faith as they worship, play, pray and live in Christian community. God has blessed us with beautiful facilities, dedicated staff and tremendous support from parents, pastors and local congregations. Wesley Woods is a great place to grow closer to Christ, have fun and fellowship all year long.
