Exploration and Expression is offered as a 2-week camp:
June 28–July 12 for participants ages 12–16
Every day includes a variety of exciting adventures linked with active educational components. From the base camp at White Mountain’s beautiful campus, students embark on backpacking trips in the spectacular White Mountain National Forest, canoe the scenic upper Connecticut River, paddle the wild waves of the White River, and learn to rock climb legendary terrain in Franconia Notch State Park.
In each activity, education is an active partner, with students discovering the world through adventure. While hiking, participants study forests and watersheds; while paddling, they investigate pollution issues and river dynamics; during rock climbings, they focus on geology; while constructing trails and working on the farm, they experience the impact of service and sustainability. Each stage has its own power and leads compellingly to the next exciting investigation.
White Mountain Summer also gives campers the opportunity to expand their skills by offering weeklong skill-focus programs for kayaking or rock climbing. Students spend their days on the water or on the rock learning the skills to safely engage in these adventure sports.

White Mountain Kayak Camp, July 12–July 19:
Is an exciting introduction to the world of white-water paddling. The camp is excellent for students who have never kayaked as well as for novice and intermediate boaters who want to enhance their river-running and playboating skills. Instruction focuses on the fundamentals of kayaking and the art of reading and running rivers safely, following the industry-standard American Canoe Association (ACA) Whitewater Kayak Course curriculum. The ACA Whitewater Kayak Course is a program emphasizing safety, enjoyment, and skills acquisition. The camp maintains a 1:5 ratio of experienced instructors to students.

White Mountain Climbing Camp July 12–July 19:
Offers a safe and wonderful climbing experience for participants from beginners to advanced climbers. Taught by White Mountain School climbing faculty members trained by the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA), this camp delivers some of the finest climbing instruction in New Hampshire and allows students to engage in a skills progression tailored specifically to their goals. The White Mountain School is the only high school in the country to have an AMGA-accredited rock-climbing program, and the trained climbing faculty members adhere to a minimum 4:1 student-instructor ratio to ensure the correct level of challenge, guidance, and safety for all participants. The experienced staff members teach the basics as well as share adventures on larger cliffs, such as Cannon, Cathedral, Whitehorse, or Rumney. A typical week might include top-roping climbs of various difficulties at Echo Crag, learning the basics of gear placement and anchor building, and climbing legendary routes like the Whitney Gilman on Cannon Cliff or Thin Air on Cathedral.
