Whitman National Debate Institute
Summer Address:

2006 WHITMAN NATIONAL DEBATE INSTITUTE, JULY 23 - AUGUST 3 (2 WEEK) OR AUGUST 10 (3 WEEK). At WNDI, we involve you one-on-one with our staff from day one. Instead of large labs and huge lectures, we focus over 90% of your time working in small 4 to 6 person labs with an outstanding staff member (and the other 10% is time spent in lecture with 20 to 30 students). Your questions and requests for help will be answered at our camp because our staff members will be right there with you. We focus 8 drills and 10 (policy) or 20 (LD) debates throughout the first two weeks to the skills you need. Students attending the third week get 4 more drills and 7 more debates with innovative practice against staff and improvement labs to help you work on key skills for winning. POLICY DEBATERS leave camp with multiple affirmative cases with frontlined answers and backup, disadvantages, counterplans, kritiks, and topicality arguments on the 2006-2007 policy topic. Learn from the in-depth topic analysis, counterplan strategy, kritik theory, and winning tactics discussed in lab and lecture and practiced in drills and debates. LD DEBATERS leave camp with affirmative and negative cases and two practice rounds on each and every one of the 2007 NFL LD topics. Learn the fall 2006 LD topics (and receive evidence for all of the 2006 LD topics), contemporary and traditional philosophers, and advanced criteria and value argumentation as well. FOR ALL Our program is tailored to you specifically with special components for novice, intermediate, and advanced debaters. The camp has a family feel atmosphere with fun activities like our picnic, live concert, movie night, and more.
