Youth Technology Learning Center, (YTLC) is a S.T.E.M./S.T.E.A.M (science, technology, engineering, art, math) Technology After-School Enrichment Center for ages 3 to 16 offering Classes, Lego Themed Birthday Parties, and Winter, Spring, Summer, Camps.

This Year we are Introducing the Highly Anticipated Quad Copter 4 Aerial Drone (with camera) Camp, and MineCraft Camp for suggested ages 9 and Up (4th Grade) where students will be led through Coding and Programming to create a MineCraft World, Main Character, and Creature where they will then bring that world to life. 

 

EARLY SIMPLE MACHINES and MECHANISMS (Beginning Lego Duplo Builder)

 

YTLC utilizes LEGO® Education building kits to teach student’s elementary engineering as applied to building real world models. This YTLC class focuses on team building and introduces engineering through colorful builds.

Suggested Ages:  3 to 6

 

Robotics I (Beginning Level Robotics)

 

YTLC utilizes the LEGO® Education WeDo building kit to teach student’s elementary engineering as applied to building real world robotic models. Students are also introduced to a simple programming interface as they work in teams of two to complete their building challenges and learn team work.

Suggested Ages:  6 to 9 

 

2D/3D STOP ANIMATION MOTION MOVIE MAKING CLASS

 

YTLC teaches movie creation through different processes to include stop animation motion, special effects, video camera skills. Students will be learning computer skills through creative interaction with movie design. Students will learn to create characters, backgrounds, and stories for a complete movie making process and experience.

Suggested Ages:  6 and up

 

KIDS Computer Science CODING

 

Course 2 is designed for students who can read and have no prior programming experience. In this course students will create programs to solve problems and develop interactive games or stories they can share. Recommended for grades 2-5.

Suggested Ages:  5 to 12

 

Robotics 3 Advanced High Tech. 

YTLC utilizes the LEGO® Education Mindstorms® NXT EV3 building kit for student’s to explore advanced robotics and building challenges. Students are taught beginning to advanced programming lessons for advanced robotics.

Suggested Ages:  9 and up

 

VIDEO GAME CODING & COMPUTER PROGRAMMING CREATION CLASS

 

YTLC utilizes the complexities of coding & computer programming to teach students to create their very own interactive computer video game. Students will be learning computer skills through creative interaction with computer programming. Students will learn to create characters, backgrounds, levels of difficulty, and stories for a complete game programming experience.

 

Suggested Age: 9 and up

 

K'NEX® Education Intro to Simple Machines

designed to introduce students to the scientific concepts associated with two types of Simple Machines – levers and pulleys. Students are provided with the opportunity to acquire skills using a hands-on, inquiry-based approach to information and concepts. Working cooperatively, students are encouraged to interact with each other as they build, investigate, discuss, and evaluate scientific principles in action.

 

Suggested Ages:  5 and up

 

MINECRAFT

 

Campers are led through coding and programming to create a Minecraft world as well as protagonist and antagonist characters. 

Suggested Ages 9 and up

 

QUAD COPTER 4 AERIAL DRONE CAMP

 

Campers will be taught calibrating and programming objectives in class and will then participate in outdoor exercises for part of the day every day under direct supervision from the flight instructor to put into practice those objectives in rotating flight plans.
