The iD Film Academy offers 2-weeks of intensive study in filmmaking and post- production for teens. Filming on location in San Francisco and Berkeley, students will learn from top tier instructors who have an insider’s knowledge of the industry and film festival circuit. Using industry standard editing programs like Final Cut Pro^® and Adobe® After Effects®, teens will produce and edit a film for their portfolio – an amazing documentary of their experience.

Students will be taught how to create a film from start to finish, from writing a treatment to camera operation, editing and DVD authoring. Learning the basics of sound design, they will incorporate voice-overs, sound effects, interviews and music into their films. Additionally, students will also get an introduction to film theory through evening film screenings. By discovering the language of production and the importance of marketing, students in our filmmaking camp will be able to take their films from the editing room to the public.

Working on team and personal projects from concept to completion, our graduates leave the academy with a professional looking portfolio, media kit and the tools to not only compete, but also excel, in the extremely competitive world of film production.
