Taught game design

Reviewed by: Greavr, 2009-05-12 10:34:47 (Modified: 2009-05-12 00:00:00)

I had the most amazing summer teaching game design at iD. It was amazing to work with kids who wanted to know about creating games and working with software which did this. Been able to teach campers about real world game development, such as making objects in Maya and exporting them to their level made in unreal tournament, or making fun and unique character skins in Photoshop and exporting them to their own role play game was amazing to see. What the kids were able to do at such a young age was something i never imagined I would see. They were able to create and develop amazing detailed levels in the week and the curriculum helped me teach the more tricky and difficult aspects of the software quickly and easily. I really wish i had this opportunity when I was younger.

I loved this camp! 5 out of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this camp and highly recommend it! When your son incorporates what he learned into his school work AND is now considering pursuing a career in this field, nothing beats that. He took the video game course and learned a lot. Now he's considering being a programming so signed up for the programming course. I really liked how the staff was so engaging and friendly. We've been to many camps, but I've never seen counselors who really enjoyed working there. It was also good that the kids didn't sit at the computers all day. If the rating here went higher, I'd give iD tech 10 stars!!

tech stuff is fun and educational

My son did the Design Your Game camp last summer and also has done the VEX Robotics Robocontenders thing, and he loved it. Our only problem was that he kept wanting to build robots the rest of the summer and kept having a robot he built chase me, the cats and my husband around the house each day, but at least he learned something that can help him get into college and isn't spending his free time getting into trouble like some of his friends. The quality of the ID Tech camps were great and we've already got him signed up for 2 more camps this summer - we highly recommend it.

iD Tech Camps is great! 5 out of 5 stars

My 11-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son are returning campers at iD Tech Camps. They love their week at camp. They have an opportunity to dabble with technology in a way that isn’t offered in school. It’s always hard deciding which class to take because iD Tech Camps offers so many “cool” ones. Their staff is great - they know how to make learning fun. It’s also safe and I trust my kids are in good hands during their week at camp. Overall, it’s a great program - from the courses, to the staff, to the college-campus experience – and it’s definitely an experience they won’t forget.

iD Tech Camps really exceed my expectations. My son took the “Adventures in Game Design” camp and I can say that every day I saw a big smile on his face and he was just waiting for the next day. I’m sure this was a great experience for him; he learned new things, he had a lot of fun and now he is ready to come back next year. I highly recommend iD Tech Camps as a big experience for your kids.

Best Camp All Summer! 5 out of 5 stars

Reviewed by: SHampshire, 2009-08-06 09:58:08 (Modified: 2009-08-06 00:00:00)

I just started sending my daughter to camp last year and we decided to try something new this summer. She found this camp online and I called to get more information. From the minute I called this camp, to the day we left, the staff were amayzing. They answered all my "worried mom" questions before I registered for camp. Then when we got to camp, they were very friendly and I felt comfortable dropping my daughter off at camp. She came home with her "Web Design" website and was so excited about making a website that I bought her the software and she's been working on it everday since she got home. This has been very helpful to my daughter and we can't wait to go back next summer.

Girls Who Like Technology - Need Apply 5 out of 5 stars

I grew up being interested in many things and still have the desire to learn today. I have a young neice that I hope will be the same. A couple years ago, I heard about iD Tech Camp held at Santa Clara University. It was nearby and offered a lot of courses. I showed the website to my neice and she was immediately excited about being able to make her own website on fashion. She went and loved it. I've been sending her for the past couple summers and she's taken a different course each time. She's very gregarious, so has no problem fitting in. Now, whenever she comes over she askes to go on the computer. I have to suggest going to the park or a bike ride. Well run camp.
