Summer 2011 Art Camps Camps run 10 am – 2 pm, (*unless stated) campers will be provided a healthy snack and must bring a bag lunch. All camps are mixed ages and mixed art media. Art projects include ceramics, hand building with clay, drawing, painting, crafts, fused glass, jewelry, tie-dye, art history and more! All classes are taught by a certified art teacher.
June 13 – 17 Go Green! Art Camp 6+
Reuse, recycle and use natural products to make art! Being green was never so much fun. Camp projects include tie-dye, jewelry making, hand-building with clay, recycled bottle art and more!
June 20 – 24 Wonderland Art Camp 6+
Learn about the art of Salvador Dali and create your own Surrealism Art; create other art projects inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Paint-your-own-pottery, fused glass, hand-building with clay and more!
*June 27 – 30 (4 day camp) Starry, Starry Night Art Camp 6+
Learn about the art and life of Vincent Van Gogh, be inspired and create your own masterpieces. We brought this back from last year—the kids LOVED learning all about Van Gogh! We will also have some starry, fun projects focused on The Forth of July holiday.
*July 6 – 9 (4 day camp) Superhero Art Camp 10 am – noon 4+
*July 6 – 9 (4 day camp) Princess Art Camp 12:30 – 2:30 4+
These two camps are for the younger camper and only last two hours each day. Each day will focus on a different superhero and princess to inspire the art! Art projects will include painting, drawing, paint-your-own-pottery, clay building and more!
July 12 – 16 Hogwarts Art Camp 8+ (Movie Release HP7: July 15) Harry Potter Art Camp—create magical art projects inspired by the wizards, teachers and creatures of Hogwarts. Projects will include paint-your-own-pottery, clay building, fused glass and more.
July 19 – 23 Peace, Love, Art Camp 6+ The kids (and our) favorite camp from last year! Learn about art from the 60’s and 70’s, tie-dye, paint-your own pottery (great peace sign ceramic pieces) and experience glass fusion!
July 26 – 30 Jewelry Arts Camp 8+ Bead it! Fuse it! Wire it! Solder it! Paint it! Learn all sorts of techniques for making jewelry. So many great projects included in this camp!
August 2 – 6 Summer Fun Art Camp 6+ It might be time to start thinking about back-to-school, but we are going to relive Summer! Projects will be inspired by summer memories and will include a mini scrapbook project, along with paint-your-own-pottery, clay, jewelry, crafts and more!
August 9 – 13 Japan-A-Mania Art Camp 8+ Learn about the art of Japan! Explore print- making and the artist Hokusai. Try origami, shibori (Japanese tie-dye,) silk painting and more!
