Traditional Camps

Camp Minisink

Minisink - Boys & Girls, entering grades 2-4 (Choose from 1 or 2 Week Sessions or combine them for a longer stay)

Minisink is the perfect experience for our younger campers. Minisink staff provides a nurturing environment for campers to live and play. Counselors ensure that their campers are taking care of their personal needs, brushing their teeth and making their beds. At the same time they make camp fun and exciting, encouraging campers to try new activities, and learn new skills. The Minisink campers program provides a balance of structured and choice activities. Each camper receives swim instruction, cabin and unit activities plus two elected periods daily. The afternoon concludes with the campers electing to participate in a recreational swim or heading to the athletic field for sports. While Minisink campers receive the individual attention they need, they also enjoy participating in all camp activities and meals with the older Laurel Ridge and Kittatinny campers. This is perfect when siblings attend camp together and also makes for a smooth transition into Laurel Ridge and Kittatinny as the campers get older.

Camp Laurel Ridge & Camp Kittatinny

Laurel Ridge - Girls, entering grades 5-10

Kittatinny - Boys, entering grades 5-10

Laurel Ridge and Kittatinny campers have the opportunity to custom design their program each week by signing up for three elected activities. In addition, there is one period for swim lessons and another when campers elect to go swimming or go to the athletic field and court area to play a sport of their choosing. Cabin mates will also enjoy something different during morning and evening activity periods - before and after normal activity time. Believe it or not there is still time for "siesta" right after lunch when everyone has a little quiet time to read a book, write home or hang out with friends or visit the Trading Post.

Ranch Camp

Ranch Camp One Week Programs

Our stables and riding areas are the summer home to 30 horses selected to be ridden by campers of all ages and abilities. Our staff provides instruction for the novice to experienced rider where participants learn all aspects of horsemanship. Campers can select whether they ride Western or English. Each day campers will have the opportunity to participate in swimming before dinner and traditional camp activities in the evening.
Each camper or 'Ranch Hand' is assigned a horse and is taught to be responsible for its care, including grooming, caring for the tack, doing stable chores...and building a loving relationship with their horse. Then they saddle up for expert riding instruction and non-aggressive training. The main emphasis of the program is control of speed and steering using proper cues. Campers will fine tune riding skills and participate in a gymkhana finale. Our Riding Director is a Certified Horsemanship Association Instructor.

Ranch Camp Two-Week Programs

Includes many of the same lessons as the one-week program plus so much more. The emphasis is on advancing your abilities as a rider. Campers will increase their knowledge of horses and learn basic animal care - recognizing common diseases, reading vital signs, and administering basic first aid. Experience an overnight trail ride and a day of traditional camp activities. August campers attend the nationally famous Sussex County Farm & Horse Show.
