S and M horseback Riding

There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.
At S&M horse camp we want your child to develop new life skills, friends, and hopefully a new hobby. We will take no more than 8 kids per camp to make sure that no child is left out and everyone has every chance to take full advantage of everything we have to offer. Conversation and socialization are stimulated through interaction with the animal, staff and other campers. Many of the children form a bond with the horses the first time they interact with them. “I like Christa because she is nice and she likes me back,” says 5 year old Rachel after meeting our new pony for the first time. Horses don’t care how much you know, but how much you care. It is suggested that a child will translate caring for the animal into caring for oneself. Self-esteem can be increased through a new found ability to positively influence another being. The young person is reassured that learning these skills takes time, and it's ok if he/she doesn't get things right the first time. In order to properly care for a horse, new skills have to be developed. The process of developing these skills can help kids who are impatient, anxious, or have low self-confidence. A horse can provide opportunity for new personal growth and sense of accomplishment.

We invite your child (ages 7-14) to come experience one of our 3-day 2-night camps with us. We will teach the campers how to work with and care for the horse from the ground up, putting safety first. We will cover everything from the anatomy of the horse and saddle to correct form for you and the horse when riding (horses are provided). Not only will we be learning about the horses, but there will be campfire fun at the end of the day, along with swimming and games.We are located in Collinston, LA
