This is a basic camp listing: no contact information is provided.
The girls who come to the Timbers are junior and senior high school girls (6th-12th grades). The Timbers has many of the attractions of a traditional summer camp, like swimming and boating lessons and arts and crafts. It is our central program that is unique and progressive in its focus on wilderness trip experiences. It is the girl-driven philosophies and practices which makes the Timbers special.
The girls who attend the Timbers plan their own experiences as a group and are given a lot of responsibilities. The staff is expected to give encouragement and guidance, providing a positive and motivating role model for each girl, as opposed to planning everything and controlling the girls’ experiences.
The Timbers itself is 262 acres of forest, fields and lakes that surround the camp facilities. It is a perfect setting for adventure in the out-of-doors whether girls are using it as a home base for out-of-camp trips or they are finding adventure on the lakes or trails of the camp.
