Camp Philosophy

USF Soccer Camps is one of the premier soccer camps in the entire Southeast Region. We understand how important it is to offer very specific programs for all ages and different abilities. Our main focus is to create the correct environment for each type of player. USF Soccer Camps ensures to provide the right building blocks necessary to be a successful soccer player.

Camp Staff

USF Soccer Camp’s staff is compromised of top college coaches and players, from all across the country, including players and coaches from the University of South Florida Soccer Program. Pride is taken in the staff that is hired, and a big emphasis is put on their interaction with the campers. Our camp staff our not only great coaches, but great role models to your child, with the USF team receiving over a 3.0 and winning the NCAA Team Academic award four consecutive years in a row. The importance of working hard not only on the field but in the classroom is emphasized to all campers.

USF Soccer Facilities

Our brand new state of the art USF Soccer Stadium and new practice fields will provide all campers at our USF Tampa Campus with the best environment for learning on 11 Bermuda grass fields. USF’s Soccer Facilities, in beautiful Tampa, FL, are among the best in the nation.

Multiple Camp Locations

Over the past 10 years, USF Soccer Camps has grown from just one location, on the USF Campus, to this year, over 10 locations throughout Florida. This year we will be holding camps in the following Florida locations: USF in Tampa, Fort Walton Beach, Gainesville, Wesley Chapel, Fishhawk Ranch (Lithia, FL), East Lake, Brandon, West Chase (Tampa, FL), and our newest locations, Clearwater & Largo.

Young Stars Camps

Our Young Stars Camp is a half day program that starts at 9am and ends at Noon, Mon-Fri.  The main priority of our Young Stars Camp is to teach players the basic techniques of soccer in a fun filled environment.  Young players are much more confident and creative if they are taught specific techniques at a young age.  The earlier a young player is able to master the technical components the sooner the player will begin to experiment with the ball and become more creative. We guarantee that your child will enjoy this weeklong program because all of the learning will be achieved with fun in mind.  At the end of the week your child will leave with the technical foundation necessary to become a creative and confident player.

At our Young Stars Camp a cutting edge, innovative, fun and technical approach is used to teach our players in a manner unparalleled in the soccer community.  The methods we use at USF Young Stars Camps tap into the creativity and imagination of a youth player.

Advanced Day Camps

At South Florida, we prefer players who are extremely technical, tactically sound, and very creative.  Since we look for these qualities in our players we feel it is of the utmost importance to teach this to young players.  Our Advanced Day Camp is a full day program that starts at 9 AM and ends at 4 PM, Monday-Thursday and 9am-Noon on Friday. The Advanced Day program is designed to improve a player’s technical proficiency in all aspects of the game (dribbling, passing, receiving, chipping, and shooting).

A specific concentration is also placed on your child’s ability to be comfortable and creative on the ball.  In each session your child will be challenged to try new things with the ball, which will increase your child’s confidence.  Your child will be encouraged to take chances and be reassured it’s okay to make mistakes.

In addition to the technical component, the Advanced Day Camp will improve your child’s tactical understanding in an individual and group setting.  Throughout the entire Advanced Day Camp, a strong emphasis will be placed on developing your child’s confidence, creativity and individuality on the field. At the end of the week your child will leave a more technical player who has greater confidence and

creativity. Advanced Day Camps at the USF/Tampa Campus include:

Afternoon outdoor swimming

Lunch Included (Monday-Thursday)

Residential/Overnight Camp Details & Amenities

The Elite Overnight Program offered at the University of South Florida is designed to improve players both on and off the field. Two separate overnight camps will be offered this year to give parents and players more choice; a 5-day camp in June and a 4-day camp in July. The program for ages 9-12 will run separately from the program for ages 13-18. Our morning session has developed a nickname over the years called 'Sunrise Soccer' because it kicks off before breakfast and it is designed for speed and agility. Our second session of the day after breakfast is geared towards improving players' technique. After lunch, the afternoon is designed to improve players' tactical awareness on both offense and defense. The evenings consist of matches and tournament play. In each session, creativity and flair are stressed. In addition, Coach Kiefer feels strongly that a player’s character is just as important as their ability.  Each player will attend a lecture with a guest speaker to discuss how your character ultimately is your brand.

All overnight camps include:
