2009 National Conference February 17-20 — Orlando, FL Disney's Coronado Springs Resort This year's theme, The Power of the Experience, explores both the meaning and the depth of our experience with children, youth, teens, and families. With the strength of our voices and the compelling story of the camp experience, we can make a powerful, societal impact. Keynote speakers include: Ned Hallowell, M.D.: Psychiatrist, and author of CrazyBusy: Overbooked, Overstretched, and about to Snap, parent, and frequent television spokesperson on the topics of adult and child attention deficit disorder. Linda Perlstein :Linda is a veteran writer for the Washington Post and author of two books, Not Much Just Chillin': The Hidden Lives of Middle Schoolers and Tested: One American School Struggles to Make the Grade. She will offer insight into how boys and girls in their tweens and early teens view life and what camp directors need to know about the emerging social world and hidden lives of today's tweens and teens. Pat Williams: Senior Vice President of the Orlando Magic familiar with working with youth, families, and sports teams. Peg Smith: ACA CEO, parent, child advocate, frequent speaker, and change-agent.
