Boy Kisses Fish Can't Post

If a dog bites a man it's not news; but the opposite is headlines - Man Bites Dog!

The July/August 2007 edition of ACA's Camping Magazine has created a cute camp version of the Man Bites Dog headline.

On the cover, an adorable boy kisses a fish. The headline is apropos - Making A Difference - because camp is a place where kids learn the confidence to accomplish things formerly considered impossible:

The first fish.

Getting up on water skis for the first time.

The debut attempt at firing and glazing a ceramic bowl.

Learning conversational Spanish.

Trying out scuba diving.

Whipping up crępes from scratch.

Meeting new friends who will last for years.

It's about making a difference; being so happy that you'd kiss a fish!

Hopefully, every child or teenager has had their own summer epiphany, a moment so special that it will stand the test of time. Summer camp websites load up on pictures to celebrate these special moments, but a child's memory is the most accurate camera with the clearest reproduction.

It's already the third week of August and camp is ending. Children will be flooding back to home and school to talk about the great times they had at summer camp and how they can't wait to go back next year.

Hopefully, they'll have many great moments to talk about - their first times when they found the confidence to make a difference - especially if it's, "I caught a fish and then I kissed it!"
