Christmas, New Year's, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice — whatever one celebrates as the year comes to a close — are special times for summer camp owners and directors, for kids, teenagers, and their parents. It's a once-in-a-year celebration, chill time with family and friends, a look back and a glance forward to summer 2007.
‘We're captured in a carousel of time,’ sang Joni Mitchell in her memorable song, The Circle Game. For summer camp lovers it's the game of bidding camp farewell in late August, preparing during the year for the season ahead, and then the circle comes round — summer camp 2007.
During these festive times summer lovers imagine the season ahead; what will camp be like? It is getting closer.
For now, it's winter, but soon . . . SUMMER.
