Legendary Camp Treasure Summer Staff Training Events - May 26-28, 2005 Can't Post

  • ACA Outdoor Living Skills (OLS) -- May 26-27

    Prepares staff to teach children and youth how to explore the natural world while preserving it for future generations or to teach these skills to other leaders.
    • Program Leader Course (May 26) -- $85/ACA Member/Camp or $99/Nonmember -- Fee includes Thursday program, lunch and dinner.
    • Instructor Course (May 26-27) -- $95/ACA Member/Camp or $115/Nonmember -- Fee includes Thursday/Friday program, Thursday night lodging, Thursday lunch through Friday lunch.


  • ACA New Director's Orientation (NDO) -- May 27

    Interactive training includes sessions on leadership, risk management, camper development and behavior, staff training and supervision, and program philosophy.
    • NDO on May 27 -- $75/ACA Member/Camp or $90 Nonmember
      Fee includes program, materials, and lunch.


  • Legendary Camp Treasure Summer Staff Training with Michael Brandwein -- May 28

    We're bringing Michael in for your summer staff! Counselors, activity specialists, supervisors, directors, support staff, pre-and after-camp care employees will benefit from this incredible day of learning and fun. A "mini conference" designed just for summer staff with options like Youth Development, Nature Exploration, Camper Behavior, Games, Campfire Programming, Communication, Outdoor Cooking, Teaching Skills, Large Group Leadership, Music, Challenge and Leadership Education, Special Needs, and Cabin/Group "Stuff."
    • Legendary Camp Treasure Saturday (May 28 from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM) includes program plus Saturday lunch and breaks --
      $15/ACA Member or Accredited/Affiliated Camp Staff; $25 Nonmember

    All events will take place at Vanderkamp Center in Cleveland, NY, just 14 miles east of I-81 at the Central Square exit. Easy to get to and convenient to Rochester, Syracuse, the Adirondacks, and the Finger Lakes Region. Participants coming from further north, south, east, or west will find it easy to reach via the NYS Thruway (I-90) and/or I-81. Friday and Saturday night lodging packages are available.
