NOLS - Wind River Wilderness Can't Post

National Outdoor Leadership School - NOLS

The original NOLS course and the most popular. Explore Wyoming's Wind River Mountains, a wilderness range renowned for its pristine lakes and rugged mountain beauty. Experience a sense of accomplishment at the end of a challenging hiking day.

Carry a pack efficiently loaded with everything needed to the top of the first high mountain pass, then descend into a glacial valley and help lead a hiking group to camp. Take turns baking pizzas over a camp stove and catching cutthroat trout for dinner. At night, a crisp sky filled with stars will shroud the tent as participants rest for the next stimulating day of exploration and learning. In addition to hiking as many as 120 miles on and off trail, experience rock climbing, fly fishing, learn how to use a GPS, and summit towering granite mountains.

The leadership skills mastered here will serve NOLS explorers well in the wilderness and beyond.
