The Summer Camp National Anthem 2008

Oh, say can you see, as the bus drives to camp, What so proudly we hailed waiting through a dull school year? Whose broad waves and bright stars, through the woodland so damp, O'er the water docks strong, staffed with lifeguards so sincere? And the sunlight’s bright glare, the bugs biting in air, Gave proof to the crowd that our camp was still there. O say, is that grand camp still standing and saved For a summer so free and cabins so brave? On the shore, brightly seen, canoes, kayaks docked deep, And the power boats hoist fancy water-ski poses, What is in the brisk breeze, drifting over the steep? Tasty scents are a’ blow, now conceals, now discloses. And the dining hall’s dreams served to campers in streams 'Tis the meal’s kindly call, may it long be nut-free: O say, is that grand camp still standing and saved For a summer so free and cabins so brave? Arts and crafts we adore, for quiet times sought, A camp and a home should leave us with s’mores Have we captured the flag, have we gallantly fought? An assortment of sports, but who’s keeping score? Fun in sun and in rain, flight from parental chains: A time to hang out and to sing camp refrains O say, is that grand camp still standing and saved For a summer so free and cabins so brave? Staff and campers make friends; through the summer join hands Kids and teens caught up in a new youth sensation Camp trails bending across the sunny-drenched land Praise the Power that hath preserved a young nation. Then have fun we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: "In Camp is our trust." O say, is that grand camp still standing and saved For a summer so free and cabins so brave?
