These last few steps you have to take alone, but we will be around as a guide;
to help you get where you need to be,
whether that is figuratively trekking the desert
or sailing the deep blue sea.
These last few steps you have to take alone,
but we will be cheering for you by your side;
with encouragement and support
while being someone with whom you can confide.
These last few steps you have to take alone,
but with each step we will be full of pride;
to watch you make that progress
whether with baby steps or big full strides.
These last few steps you have to take alone,
for it’s the best, you see.
So when you step upon the land you’ve found on your own,
you can be proud of “Me”.
Even though we are mainly there for the children, let’s not forget that the camp experience is a two way street. It would be interesting to hear what you learn this year from the kids! Here’s to a great 2009!
