World of Summer Camp Fairs Can't Post

Autumn and winter are seasons for camp owners and directors to boost the
identity and brand of their camps through many marketing methods. A popular off-season promotional tool is the summer camp fair.

Many summer camp fairs are slated for the winter. Information is becoming available now, with booth spaces filling up.

Summer camp fairs can be a boon when camp management considers all possible angles. If not, a lot of effort can go to waste.

A perpetual marketing phase runs from September until summer camp numbers are filled for the next season. That’s why a camp fair can be a rewarding way for camp management to meet parents and kids.

Camp owners have to decide —
  • what camp fair is right for them
  • will attendance at the camp fair boost business
  • its worth in time, money, and resources – people and promotional materials
Many camps serve local or regional areas; if the camp fair falls within your geographic market – GO!

Other camps take in kids and teens from several major metropolitan areas, plus other locales. Camp owners then have to decide if they want to attend in person, find a substitute, or pass.

Camp seekers will get to visit many different camps and find a means to compare.

Camps that come prepared to showcase their unique qualities will be in the best position to attract future campers and their parents. A variety of camps are represented at camp fairs; owners and directors who understand their niche can best market to 2006 admirers.

Camp owners, and their representatives, can anticipate numerous questions and should prepare answers about —
  • costs
  • activities
  • camp philosophy
  • policies
  • arrangements to bunk with friends
  • food and diet
  • staff
  • among a few
The ACA runs many regional summer camp fairs throughout the year, but other not-for-profit organizations and private businesses provide excellent opportunities.
