The Guildhall at SMU, the nation’s leading graduate-level video game development program, is once again offering a summer enrichment program for middle and high school students. The Guildhall Academy is a two-week intensive day camp in which students create their own 2D video game, using an exclusive professional game-builder starter kit developed by The Guildhall at SMU and Microsoft’s ® XNA™ technology. After camp concludes, students will be able to take their games home and continue to develop and play them on a PC or Xbox 360. The program’s goal is to offer something different than other general fine arts, science or math summer camps by teaching the many forms of art and science behind video game development. The Guildhall Academy is taught by SMU faculty members who are game industry veterans and have shipped numerous AAA game titles. There will be two sessions, June 7 – June 18 and June 21 – July 2nd. Middle school and high school students will be in separate classes. The class includes: A copy of the created game Guildhall Game Starter Kit (art and sounds assets) Copy of Garage Games Platformer Starter Kit, 30-Day trial of Garage Games Torque X 2D, Microsoft XNA Game Studio Express XNA Creator's Club license (good for one year) 30-day trial of Adobe Photoshop To enroll your student, please fill out the forms below and mail in your $250 deposit check made out to The Guildhall at SMU to: Melissa Lee, The Guildhall at SMU, 5232 Tennyson Parkway, Building 2, Plano, TX 75024.
