The Day I Left For Camp Quote | Reply

I looked out the car window and took in a deep breath. It was finally here, the day I would leave for camp. My mom and dad were driving me to the airport where they would then say good bye to two whole months.
I have to admit, amidst all my excitement to finally be getting away and going on my adventure. I still had a small case of nerves as well. Backflips were happening in the pit of my stomach. I mean yes, I went away for college. But it was only two hours away, and I was home at least every other weekend. This was a total of about 22 hours away, and I would definately be gone for a full 8 weeks. Not to mention, I wan't going to know anyone. Yes, this was something I had never done before.
This was something I knew I needed in my life.
Once at the airport, we all said our Goodbye's and surprisingly I didn't even shed a tear. Instead, I smiled. I was beyond happy. I was going to step on that plane and just fly away, be on my own, see what else was out there. (Ok.. I'm exaggerating a little bit. I mean I was just going to Maine, and a structured summer camp at that, but still!)
