What to look for? Quote | Reply

Hey I'm Laura

I just ran across this site as I was looking for camps to work at this summer. Does anyone have any advice for me as to which camps to look for and which to avoid?

I'm 20 and have had a few experiences working in a camp setting. One year I worked at a Children's camp as kitchen help. Last year I taught a painting workshop, a Bible Study and was a Cabin leader at a Christian youth camp. I've also worked at many day camps for kids and currently teach an art class at a Jr.High.

How do I find the right camp to work at when there are so many to choose from? Shocked

Well, this is how I searched for the right camp to work at. First I decided what area (province/state) I wanted to work in. That eliminates allot of camps... From the rest of the list, I took out the types of camps I wasnt looking for (eg. soccer camps/ religious camps). Once I did this - I had a list of about 20 camps that met my requirements... So I went threw all of the websites and narrowed it down to a couple... and now am working at an amazing camp.

Hope this helps.
