Specialty sports camps are on the rise, writes veteran New York Times writer, David Sheff. On July 20, he filed the story - For 7th Grade Jocks, Is There Ever an Off-Season? The wide-ranging article included many interviews, involving one with MySummerCamps.com’s President, Evan Heltay. Going to an athletic camp is “no longer simply a fun alternative,” said Evan Heltay, the president of MySummerCamps.com, a directory. “Instead, they are almost a requirement for serious players." MySummerCamps.com was mentioned again in The New York Times piece: No organization tracks the total number of camps for specific sports.
