| YMCA Kanawana is an English language camp, though more than a quarter of our campers speak French at home. Senior Lead guides must be 21 or older and have extensive backcountry experience. Swift water rescue, whie water paddling certification and Wilderness First Responder are all required Certification.
Guides must be familiar with expereintial education and understand group dynamics in a Wilderness setting and be able to manage risk, injury and hygiene in a backcountry context. Guides must also model environmentally sound guiding practices. |
